Remember to… buy that thing send that package take out the trash take out the recycle close the windows do laundry check the mail mail the check floss and brush take your meds refill your meds pick up your meds make that call send that text send that email return that call reply to that text reply to that email make that appointment put that appointment on your calendar set a reminder for that appointment prepare for that appointment put that on your To do list look at your To do list Remember to… remember YOU take that shower get that rest eat good food spend time with yourself spend time on yourself reconnect with the universe move your body write poetry and breathe I touched on values in my last inspiration email, when I said that decisions that lead to peace are aligned with the values of your true self - the person you were created to be. I encouraged you use the Values Assessment to explore which values are important to you and how they are or are not showing up in your life. I encourage you to take the opportunity to do this now if you haven't already. If you do not have the Values Assessment, sign up for it using the button below, and I will send it to you immediately. Now I want to talk about types of values. I learned in iPEC coach training that there are two types of values, fear-based and conscious-based. Fear-based values motivate you to be proactive to avoid something you fear. They are the have to's and what you want to avoid is the or else. Here are a few examples from the poem: buy that thing (or else I won't have it when I desperately need it) send that package (or else the window for returns will close and I won't be able to get a refund) check the mail (or else I'll miss a bill due date, the bill will be sent to collections, and I will have bad credit) What are your fear-based values, the have to's? List them out, and match each one to the or else you want to avoid. Set that list aside for now so you can turn your attention to conscious-based values. Conscious-based values motivate you to live as your authentic true self. These values are steeped in your passion for life. They are the want to's. Here are some of mine from the poem: Nurture my body: take that shower get that rest eat good food move your body Nurture my mind: get that rest eat good food spend time with yourself spend time on yourself Nurture my spirit: spend time with yourself spend time on yourself reconnect with the universe write poetry and breathe Notice that many of these nurture all of me - mind, body and spirit. Now it's your turn. What are your conscious-based values, your want to's? List them and identify how each is motivated by a passion in your life. Just by participating in these exercises, you have raised your level of consciousness! How about that! I can help you continue this journey of higher and higher levels of consciousness.
